NFC issues - ESPuino complete

Sorry for the English, I decided to setup a second player for the kids however I am having issues reading the NFC cards I have.

I am sure this worked once, out the box but cant be 100% certain. In the web interface and logs I cannot see it detecting any cards.

I have flashed the fw compiled by me and provided by biologist GitHub builds no change. I have used the PN5180 from my other music box that works fine, also does not work on this complete board.

I cannot see anything wrong with my wiring or the pins, and like I say if I swap between them it works in on an not the other.

From the pic’s can anyone see anything that I am doing wrong? (excuse my bad soldering :p)

a) Could you please perform a continuity test for all RFID pins? Guess I need to provide a pinout at ESP32.
b) Please provide a photo from complete’s flip side. Especially the RFID connector.
c) Is JP8 soldered to 2+3?

I once had a problem with a trace that got disrupted at production. This was clearly detectable using (a).
Your soldering looks ok. IRQ is a bit „weak“ but that shouldn’t lead to any problems.

a) I did not need a pinout for the ESP, I figured it all out well sorta I take it 5V and 3.3V come from sombre else? If yes the only thing I cannot find continuity is on IRQ on the ESP, from the PN5180 I can verify continuity till the bottom of the board in image but from there I cannot find it anywhere else.

b) sure, see attached

c) yip

Don’t know what you mean
As of now we don’t have 5 V, so 3.3 is the same like 5 V. They’re just briged.

Basically we only make use of PN5180’s IRQ for LPCD. So this isn’t the root cause. However, you can’t measure it because JP1 would need to soldered in order to route it to ESP32’s IO32.

So you’ve been able to meausure continuity for all the other pins, right?

If so: I absolutely don’t get what’s wrong there. JP8 is fine and PN5180’s connector, too!
PN5180 is not functional at all?

“So you’ve been able to meausure continuity for all the other pins, right?”
Correct

“PN5180 is not functional at all?”
Correct - I have 3 PN5180 and 2 complete boards, all 3 PN5180 works on one complete but not on the latest one I received, hence me believing its 100% a problem on the complete.

Ok, then please send it back.
